so i built a new 306 every seal and gasket brand new through out motor. well 3 days after the new motor was running and driving it had a slight oil leak on front seal now 3 months later it still their getting worce.

my question is what did i do wrong, behind the balancer on the timing cover is a round seal well we had trouble getting it in so i put assembly lube around it and tapped it in with a rubber mallet very tight fit but looked good. well that same seal is leaking on bottom. could of i got the wrong seal or why would it be leaking.

Hey its no big deal, half the people in the free world have had a seal leak on them at sometime. Most of the time the spring falls out of the lip when you try to get the balancer back on. Just give it another try and you'll be fine. The seals are pretty cheap. Good Luck

as long as you put a light film of oil on the balancer when you tried to put it back together, then you didn't do anything wrong.
