Just noticed the underside edge of my 05 is bubbling along the seam. Has anyone tried to get ford to fix this under warranty lately? Is it a pain in the rear end to get Ford to fix it (not sure if it is still under warranty) or should I just replace it with an aftermarket item. I really like the hood that comes on the 350 GT/H (Hertz rental) but not sure where to order one from.

Opinions?

I've noticed the same thing on the front edge, on the inside of the hood. I think there have been some threads about this, might want to seach them.

I have looked at some historical threads, but I'm wondering if people are still having problems with ford covering this currently. Sometimes when these issues initially start, the dealers are reluctant to repair under warranty, but later on as the issue is more common, dealers are easier to deal with when tiring to get this work done and I'm wondering if this has been the case with this issue.

A few have had luck under the 3/36 warranty. Doubt if you'd have any luck on the rust/corrosion warranty since it hasn't put a hole through.

Look at the inside edge of your trunklid also (the edge just above the bumper). If car has been used in salted streets, you'll find bubbling paint there also...even though the trunklid is made of steel and the hood is aluminum.

Got the same problem. A little bit on the front lip and a small spot where my shaker trim is. Not that noticible. If I had to do it I would just media blast the thing and get a couple cans of the automotive spray-in-a-can to fix-er up...or I would just buy an entire body-kit and redo the whole car :grinroll: (not with the spray can, obviously)

Just had mine repainted last week at the local dealer. They never questioned it, just signed my car in and called me two days later. The under hood now looks better than it did from day one.
