Building a 66 289 engine and need advice!

Hi, my name is Chris, I have a 1966 ford mustang 289 V8 4barrel. The car is almost bone stock, except for some new shocks and a battery. As far as I know no other modifications have been made and the car has 97k miles. It needs a full valve job, and I figure if I do the valves I might as well do the whole engine since the engine needs a rebuild as well. Just looking for some tips on the engine rebuild since I do want to beef it up a bit. I'm looking more for a fast 0-60/quarter mile, want to have fun, not so much top end speed. Thanks! -Chris
