So, my bumper inserts & rocker panel stripes came yesterday, and I've been wanting to put them on.. but i have a few questions...

Do I just wash my car really well with regular dish soap? My dad wants to use something like "total prep" which I really don't think is necessary, and I'm scared it may damage my paint...

How long will my decals last? (my bumper inserts are the 13.99 ones off AM)

Can I pressure wash them?

What is the proper spacing between the bottom of my car and the stripes? Or what are suggested spacings?

Thanks :)

I'll go in order.

I can't emphasize enough that you do NOT wash with dish soap. THAT will damage the paint more than the total prep because dish soap strips all wax, polish, any type of protectant you may have and then the surface is open to the elements. Dish soap is a big NO NO. Cars with faded paint are most likely the ones washed with dish soap.

Decals usually last about a year. Pressure washing isn't recommended on a car due to it damaging the surface. If you do it anyway, don't get right up on the car. I've seen paint blasted right off the surface by a pressure washer.
