C4 Transmission Problems

Hello
I have a 65 mustang. I just got a performer rpm intake and E-street edlebrock heads. I am now having transmission problems. When I am accelerating at high rpms the trany will shift extremely late into second gear. Could anyone tell some fixes to this problem.

thanks

Did you connect manifold vacuum back to the vacuum modulator on the transmission? Did you adjust the manual kickdown lever for the transmission on the accelerator linkage? And if you have low manifold vacuum that will make the vacuum modulator, act like the engine is under more load and will delay the shift points. Post your results. Good Luck.

rex1965 is on the button but did you remember to put in a tranny shift kit to compensate for the extra power that the engine in making?
