Hello. I have a '67 Mustang with a 289/C4 in it. I also have a '74 Cougar XR7 with a 460/C6 in it that I'm stripping for parts, and I'm looking to put the 460/C6 in the '67 Stang.

I already know that both the 460 and the C6 will fit in it, even though I will have to shorten the driveshaft and swap the rear end for a 9". My question though is, will the C6 crossmember from the '74 Cougar fit/work in the '67 Stang, or will I need to find another one somewhere else?

For that matter, will the front coil springs on the '74 Cougar work in the Stang as I know I'll have to upgrade the ones in the Stang to accomdate the significant increase in weight from the 460?

Thank you!! :)

74 Cougar ?, I cant say for sure but I would venture to say the '74 cougar C6 cross member is very much different. You might ask the guys at West Coast Classic Cougar.

You will need a true big block type C6 cross member for your 67. You can buy them from CJPP. Mustang C6 Transmission Crossmember 1967-1970
