Hello.. new member here..

Just bought a '93 GT from the second owner with supposedly only 42k original miles.. car doesnt really tell you much.. wondering now if its actually 142k..

Is there a way to request from Ford any dealer service history records?

Thnx,
Ed

You can get a carfax type records check that will give you the registration history which will often tell you the milage at various registration events. It will also give you accident history and some vehicle use history.

edit - Some DMV locations might be able to provide you with some of that info also but I am not sure... and if they did you will probably have to pay for it and it will probably take some time.

If it has a 5 digit odometer then there is no way to verify true mileage. If it has a 6 digit odometer and it has not been tampered with then the local motor vehicles department will have verifiable odometer readings when the car has had transfers and such. Ford is unlikely to have any worthwhile records since very few people maintain a car throughout it's whole life at the dealer.
