Can't tell what I have for an exhaust!!!!

722 Views 2 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  jjsanders
I have a 2001 GT, Automatic, BBK CAI and 4.10 gears. I bought the
car with 17,000 miles on it and added the above.

I want to do the exhaust and I decided on a Prochamber catted H-pipe.

Problem is when I look at my current exhaust I only see two cats and the mufflers say bullit on them.

I thought stock there was four cats?
Anyone ever heard of bullit mufflers?

If there is four cats on a stock GT then I'm blind or the H pipe was changed.
How could I tell?

I'm not 100% sure about the cats, but i do know that on ALL 99+ Mustangs, their are only 2 cats.
cats

hope this helps out for you! you are right there are 2 cats under the car however there are a total of four cats. there are 2 inside of each cat. now if you decide you gut them then you need to get a eliminator kit for them. else called oxygen sensors. and what that does is makes the check engine light go off. or else you will have that stay on. the sensors can be found at jegs.com for like $60. :handball: hope that helps outs
