Check Engine - Evaporative leak?

So here's the deal. Last Friday, my check engine light goes on. I was bringing it in on Monday to have the Shaker 500 replaced (that's another long story - it didn't get done), so I went in a little early to see if they could hook it up and see what the deal was. They did, and its some kind of an eveporative leak or something. Easy to fix, but they said it can take at least a day to find it, and I didn't have the time. They said it was fine to drive, though until I can bring it back in. Any thoughts? It seems to run fine, but I hate driving with a check engine light on.

Thanks!

it's usually the gas cap isn't tightened enough.

Not a gas cap issue - all over that one. The hooked it up and have detected some other leak in some hosing somewhere.
Shaker 500 issue

Can you post the abbreviated version of your Shaker 500 issue please?

Sure. To make a long story short. Of ocurse, the skipping CD stories are legendary, and mine being an early '05 model, I have that problem. I was hoping to time the replacement of the stereo with also adding the PIE Aux adaptor to hook up with my XM so it wouldn't to be torn apart twice. So the dealer calls me up and says my new, improved Shaker is in and we set up Monday as an appointment to have them install it. Good opportunity to check out the check engine light, too.

Well, turns out they didn'y have the right stereo anyway! So my trip to the dealer (and 3 hours of wating) was all for naught, except to find out that my check engine light was not a big deal. grrrr.
Did they happen to tell you the exact trouble code being reported by the PCM?
should'nt take a day. Takes about 30-60 minutes to find a evap leak with a smoke machine
