Ok.. I wanted to say thanks to everyone for all the help in the past. It has made working on this car a breeze (so far).

I have this major clanking noise coming from my passenger front tire when I hit bumps or drive above 40 mhp.. It sounds like somethings loose but Ive checked all I can.. My buddy has the same problem and we cant figure it out. It a metal on metal sound... Anyone know what I could look for? Please help, I don my tire falling off at 80mph...

Is the spring isolator torn up ? If it is torn up (if it's still there) it will cause the condition you describe.

Also your strut could be busted and cause excessive travel without cushion, causing the collision.
