I just got my car striped with vinyl but I need to know that when I wash my car, do I just wash the stripes with water and soap or what?

Really need your help! I don't want to screw them up.

Soap and water is fine. Avoid pressure washing as much as possible. Obviously no abrasives or solvents. After they've been on a few weeks you can wax them.

times two :evilchuck

You can use the car wash, just do not direct the spray at the stripe edge. It will lift the stripe.

I use a nice soft soapy cotton cloth to hand wash the car. If the car has dirt sprayed up from the wheels I might take it to the car wash to knock off some of the rough stuff.

If you wax then you may need to us a toothbrush to knock off the wax at the edge of the stripes, be careful not to rub the bristles under the stripe.

Pics please. :eyepoppin

How much did vinyl cost you? I'm thinking about having it done.
The vinyl cost me $550 all together. It cost $500 to get the top and side stripes made and $50 for installation. I also got 2 small tribal mustangs to go behind the 2 small windows for free.:eyepoppin

I want to post pics but I don't know how?First I'll get it washed before I post pics. It's Tungsten Grey with black stripes.:laughlitt

If anyone in the Denver metro area wants stripes painted or the tape kit installed send me a PM .My buddy Mike can do the paint or tape kit in a two day turn around. His work is first rate.My painted stripe scheme is $700.00 blacking out the hood, spoiler and maybe blacking between the tail lights. Here is what he did on my 67'Rebel.
