Hi all, had the ford dealer remove rubber drain plugs from the firewall to see how dirty they where, have never cleaned them on my 2007 gt. They were filthy. I bet a lot of interior water leaks can be avoided by just cleaning these drains.

Firewall water drains

There are two rubber drains, one on the driver side and one on the passenger side half Way down on the firewall in the engine bay. The driver side is a little easier to get to than the passenger side.

What kind of stuff builds up there?

I found leaves and crusty dirt that becomes hard from water entering the drains.

wondering do you need them rubber plugs in? had water leaking in my 2007 mustang didnt know what was causing it tell I started looking on youtube and found where to look so when we found it it got knocked out on the passenger side so Im wondering do you need them in?
