2012 V6 convertible. I hear a clunking noise when going over even small bumps. Noise is from rear suspension. Can't hear it with top open, but pretty loud when top is closed. We've put it on a lift and banged and shook every part and can't find anything that seems to be loose. When on the ground we pushed down on each side of the car and can't find a noise. Kind of lost on this one. The only possibility I can think of is a damaged shock that is making noise internally. Anyone think of anything else to look for?

Jack the wheels off the ground, use a 2x4 to move each wheel up/down...I'm betting you find it's a ball joint

i had this very early on in my car. turned out to be the panhard bar grommets were shot. it was almost the same price to replace the whole bar with a new one as to buying replacement grommets so thats what i did. fixed my rear end clunk once and for all.

Great ideas guys. Thanks. I think the trick might be to check everything when the car is on a 4 post lift and the suspension is loaded. I think before I was checking it on a 2 post with the suspension hanging.

Rear sway bar bushings - no question. My 12 V6 PP did exactly what you've described at 10k miles - had them changed under warranty and that fixed the noise. Tough to isolate on a hoist but that is what your noise is. And yes I love my 14 Track pack but I do miss the 12.
