So as I was going down the interstate this morning, I tried to down shift in attempt to slow down before a speed trap. When I pushed the clutch in all I got was a loud pop. I've figured out that it was the quadrant that took a dump on me. I have ordered a Mustang Clutch Adjuster Kit (96-04) 16017, from American Muscle. Has anyone installed this kit, I have a 98 GT, and does anyone have any advice for me? I haven't had to mess with anything on the clutch yet.

Thanks in advance!

It's one of the easiest things you can do. Just follow the instructions.

Sounds like your quadrant must have been the plastic or nylon type. I am not sure of the kit you ordered but I hope it is the aluminum quadrant and the firewall adjuster the same. Most after market kits will be made to be stronger then the stock and that is a good thing, and as Bullit says it is easy if you follow instructions.

Yea, all pieces are aluminum. I have printed off the instructions. I'm glad to hear that's an easy job. Hopefully I'll get everything by Wednesday and get back on the road.
