Clutch problem, Please help

A funny thing happened this morning when I got into my car to leave work. The bottom of my shoe must have been wet because when I pushed the clutch in to start the car my foot slipped off the clutch and with the pressure of the pedal and the way my foot slipped off the side I think the pedal may have been pulled towards me. I did not realize there was a problem until I went to leave I put the car into reverse and stalled it. After backing out I put the car in first and stalled it. The clutch was catching at a different point that I was not used to. I think when my foot slipped of it adjusted the quadrant because of how quick it all happened and this changed the pick up point of the clutch because after I readjusted the quadrant it shifted the way I am used to. It is a factory style cable and quadrant and it is shifting good now. Has anybody ever had this happen before.

Yes i have done that before,a few times.....
Same thing happened in my old '93 GT. About a week later the factory plastic quadrant broke, making me late for work. :( I would suggest thinking about an aluminum quadrant upgrade, those plastic teeth have to be showing wear especially now. ;)
hey Hevey Metal, I've never noticed any plastic pieces on the floorboard or any sound from the quadrant, and it is shifting good now do you think maybe it will last a little longer I only put about 6k on the car each year. After this happend in your car was It ok for a while. Did it only happen when your foot slipped off which is a rare thing for me to do.
I had no problems after it happened to me,i would say you will be fine.Just keep in mind the quadrant for a future mod.
Thank you to everybody that responded
