SPOUT circuit grounded?????

I've been having trouble for about a month now I keep getting the same code 212(Ignition module circuit failure/SPOUT circuit grounded).I went ahead and changed my ignition module and bought an msd coil. The car still runs the same way it did before. The car misfires and runs bad until it gets warm the car then starts to run a little better, but not much. I've asked eveyone I know and no one else has had this problem. I've been on numerous forums and I haven't got to the root of the problem. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Check to see if the spout connector is good by running a piece of wire where the connector is supposed to go. If that doesn't help any try checking the wiring all the way untill it goes into the connectors.

That sounds good, also make sure the spout is even there. That would definately cause the problem. Those things are often forgotten when people work on their cars.

Sounds like a wiring short to ground. Disconnect the distributor wiring and the other connectors within the spout circuit. You may need a schematic to help, then using a DVOM check for a short to ground.

Code 212 = Loss of IDM (Ignition Diagnostic Monitor) input to EEC or SPOUT circuit grounded....
1. Check for the short to ground possibility in the SPOUT wire (to ECM side and to ICM side) as suggested above.

2. IDM wire from Ignition Control Module (ICM) to ECM integrity (open, short to ground or power).

3. ICM was already replaced

4. If all the above checks OK......the ECM will be the one to blame.
