7-28-12 i took my mustang to a dyno day, best of 387/325. Mods were Boss manifold, roush intake, 3" X pipe with stock resonators and roush mufflers. Bama tune on 91 octane. dyno was a dyno dynamics. 5th gear

10-3-12 i took my mustang in for another dyno run, different place and different dyno. Mods on this run were 3" H-PIPE and JLT intake. Bama tune for 91 octane. 4th gear

If you compare the 2 sheets, you see a huge dip at 5000 RPM's on the dynojet. torque goes way down but then suddenly climbs back up to around where it was? when i asked what that was, the comment was garbage tune. when i asked about doing the 5th gear run versus 4th, i was told my numbers would go way down. i then asked to do it anyway because i don't care, just want to see the 1:1. i was told he will not run his dyno with the car in 5th gear.

Dunno if I'm pointing out the obvious, but if it were me I'd try to stick to one shop for dyno runs. Dynos specs (obviously) vary from type to type and depending on weather conditions on any given day throw them even more out of whack.

If you want an even remotely fair comparison you should choose one or the other and stick with it.

On the Dynojet, if you did a 5th gear pull, your HP would be simular but your TQ would be much higher. A 5th gear pull puts more load on the vehicle. To give you an example....the last time I dyno'ed on a Dynojet Dyno, I had the shop guy do a back to back 4th and 5th gear pull. The 4th gear pull was 392 whp/ 333 wtq. The 5th gear pull was 394 whp/ 371 wtq. All were SAE corrected. The STD corrected gave me 402.89 whp/ 379.76 wtq.

Hey man,

Both pulls look pretty good. However like listed above different weather conditions and dynos etc.. can definitely show completely different numbers. JPGC said it perfectly and has the proof to back it up. If you do back to back pulls (4th then 5th) your power will be pretty similar but your torque in 5th will be much closer to your power numbers because of the load it puts on your Stang.

I see that your torque does drop off for a small period of RPM, a little bit more then usual. We can definitely fix this for you. Shoot me a PM with your order number included and I'll have my head tuning specialist Mike Wilson contact you directly. I'm confident get you squared away in a timely fashion!

We appreciate your business and patience!

i understand and agree with the same dyno and weather. i just couldn't get back to the original place, too far away and too difficult to get there with my schedule. so i chose this other place and was going to use this as the place to go to. thats a whole other story.

my main concern is the thoughts on that dip. I have never felt the dip at 5000 rpms and i do regularly visit 6k-6.5k. just weird to me how it drops what looks like 30ftlbs, then comes up to whee it was then continues the slope down. (tq)

could this be where the cams are moving? I'd think by 5k they are "all in" but i'm no tuner nor coyote guru.

BAMA sent me a revised tune in less then an hour. i didn't think this was a tune issue, honestly, i felt it was an operator issue. immediately after the dyno the guy told me he can easily get me 425 at the wheels if i pay for his tuning.

i will now look for another shop i feel comfortable with, have several complaints about the place last night.

will post up other results when i get them, no timeframe though, sorry.

want to thank BAMA for the lightning fast response on the tune.

I couldnt agree more with you never going back to that shop. I have flat out NEVER heard of a shop refusing to do a dyno pull 1:1. Rediculous.

Sounds like you got it sorted out, with my mods I got 401 rwhp SAE and 410 rwhp STD...
