My question is about mounting another engine in the new 05 chassis. If I bought a 05 v6 stang could i put a previous like 99-03 engine in there? Could I put a 4.6 or even the 5.4 (from the cobra R) in there, and just wire it up with a matching computer?

What would I have to change?
What would I need besides the engine and computer?

thankyou in advance :D

Knowing ford, being the cut-corner jerk-offs they are, they probably left alot of the old in the new. So I wouldn't expect you to have a psychoitc amount of problems however there will definetly be a few bumps. The only way to know for sure is to get in and under one of those babies and take notes.

But I've got to ask, why would you want to do that anyways?

From what I have read the '05 Mustang has the next generation engine management system. EECV is out and a new system is used. FRPP makes DOHC crate motors with a stand alone engine management system. But why buy a V-6 and them go throught all of the expense of putting something else in it when, like the post above says, you can just buy a GT.
