Hey, I have the oppurtunity to pick up an 87 Lincoln Continental complete pretty cheap. It has an FI 5.0 with AOD, 8.8 rear with posi and airbag front suspension. Does anyone know if the rear will fit in my 86 LX?

yeah, it'll fit, but it's not a High Output engine . . .

So the rear will fit, but the motor isn't an HO. what are the differences in the HO vs a standard 5.0? Can I use the front suspension parts as well? other than motor mounts what will I have to alter on the motor? Will the fan and oil pan work? how about the Rad?
I would stay away from the air bag front suspension. I've only known two people personally that had air bag setup and they both had trble $$$ with them. One person didn't do anything, but the thing leaked off and you had to wait to drive off until it aired up. If you have had experience with this setup, then maybe you feel more confident in them, but not me. :tongue :tongue

I think you'll have to modify the rear, but it will fit. I think it's too wide.

Whether it'll be cheaper to modify the rear, or pick one up in a junkyard, I don't know.

Front suspension will definitely not work.

What kind of fan is it? Electric?

I doubt the oil pan will work. But those are cheap.

Radiator will not work.
