I have a 2008 Mustang Convertible, I live in the south, The top is tan and I have been fighting mildew almost since I got it. The top is actully starting to deteriate. I have been using car a car wash. I really like the car and I quess I will need to replace the top within a year, I will definitely not replace it with tan, I will go with black.
Any advise

Ditto on the Raggtopp

:bigthumbsupI have been using a product called Raggtopp on my 05 top and it still looks like new. They have a cleaner and protectant for both cloth and vinyl I highly recommend it.I got it from WWW.Autogeek.com
Just got this last week, in ONE cleaning, all of the mildew spots on my 2010 (yes, 2010!) are almost gone. A few more applications, and I think the top will look showroom new again.

One note: rinse VERY WELL after using the protectant, because it forms strong films on things like glass, (especially with the scorching sun baking the film to a nice, tough, crosslinked finish).

Cheers,

Paul

That's a great link guys. I'm going to try some of the Raggtopp stuff as well. My top needs it bad! I'm moving this now to the show and shine section so other's can benefit from this info.

I'll second the 303 Fabric Guard. I had a bad experience with the Raggtopp cleaner on a Jeep and won't go near it again.

I quess they got some bad material that year, I have heard from and met several people with tan and they have the same problem, but it seems the earlier models do not. Mine is defineatly began to deterioate,
