Looking for something pretty mean looking but not stupid. Everything is small out there that I see for our cars but I don't want a big honker either just something that adds balance to the car.
PICS?

I got mine from SS Inserts. It's called the "Boss 429" style. I bought it from them painted and the match is perfect.

this is a very nice scoop from SS...I had it but sent it back cause it wouldnt work with my stripes that I had already painted on...should have got the scoop then striped it. this scoop narrows as it comes to towards the front which allowed my stripes to run off the top edge..didnt look right. SO I TOO AM LOOKING FOR PICS. Im thinking about the Califronia dreaming hood :) www.lmperformance.com

I like that Boss 429 scoop, but i have to admit it looks nothing like an actual Boss scoop.

A much more accurate representation of the Boss 429 hood and scoop is the one on the new Stallion. thats what I'm saving up for. The hood, not the car.

True. It's more like the Cougar Eliminator hood scoop. The actual Boss 429 scoop is much taller. I've been trying to find the actual 429 scoop on some of the resto sites for my convertible.

I fell in love (or is that lust) with the CDC Smooth hood scoop with the integrated turn signal indicators like the '69/'70 stangs. Only problem is they have yet to start selling them! :wavey

Whenever I see those I get a very vivid image of nostrals.

CDC scoop = car nostrals?

Hmm.

IMO a hood scoop has to be functional or what's the point? If you have one that's 3M taped on just for looks you're just asking to get spanked on the street. My theory is make the car actually tough first and then worry about making it look tough.

Can you tell me if you had to special order it painted and the price. Also does it seem to hold to the hood good with just the tape, and is the tape just around the edges.

that mrt scoop looks like craap! too big and just looks like it's taped. i agree with however said, make it tough first then worry aobut the tough looks. the only hood scoop i would go with should be functional, which is actually a whole hood, california dream hood. maybe in the future.

Heres Mine

I Love The Way This Looks And The Way The Stripes Go Over The Outside Of It....blends In With The Hood In My Opinion.not Functional But Then Itd Be My Luck That It Would Void A Warrenty Issue I May Have In The Future.had It Mounted And Painted The Same Time The Stripes Were Painted On.front Of It Is Truely A Bug Catcher Though But Dont Have Any Issues Like When A Trailer Passes Me Coming Towards Me.seen The Whole Hood Lift A Bit But The Scoop Does Nothing!brent
