could it be alignment?

Alright so whenever I come to a stop the wheel jerks really hard to the right sometimes and very rarely to the left. I can hold it still when it jerks but it takes a little muscle. I hope its not the alignment because i recently got it fixed. The streets here are slightly bumpy but for this to happen almost every time i stop, i highly doubt that it could be the problem. Any ideas on what it could be?:helpsmilie:

When you come to a stop ?
Its NOT ALIGNMENT !

What comes into play while your stopping and not while your driving ?
The only thing it could be is brakes..
I assume you have "Disc Brakes" Then you have a frozen brake caiper. If it pulls to the right, then the "LEFT" is frozen.

However, replaceing only the "Frozen" side is not exactly the correct way to go.
And if you want to be REALLY SMART, you'd replace the pads & hoses along with the calipers.
Possibly the rotors also, you could look at them when you have the wheels off, but I'd guess that they been on the car for the same time as the calipers. Translation, there junk !

These cars are very susceptible to road crown. My car pulls every which way when I stop.

his alignment can be at fault...loose bolts left from the mechanic...was it done on a machine or some shop that says they have a machine and it doesnt work...toe out will cause a pull as would too much camber and un even caster...

different size tires or (different treads) on car will also cause this feel when braking

with brakes it could be a twisted brake hose that holding back fluid.. Does this happen on every stop or mostly at larger intersections with 4lane red lights?

My v6 had alil jerk sometimes when stopping it isnt alignment, unless its like overwhelmingly strong (mine never was) then I just wouldnt worry about it

mine only does it in heavily traveld areas where theres ruts in the road. you can pretty much visibly see the normal crown in the road but u feel the ruts when u drive over em. our cars are very sensitive to road surfaces

It was done on a machine, i watched them do it.

It happens almost every stop, doesn't really matter on the intersection really.

check your brake rotors to make sure they are not worned out and bent.
+1 on the calipers too

but here is a test I do often - find a straight flat road. accelerate to about 40mph, take your hands off the wheel and apply the brakes hard. if it pulls right or left you might have a brake problem -rotors or calipers. if it does not pull either way then it is a suspension/wheel size problem...

If you have had your tires rotated and have been burning out before hand you may have less tread on the right side causing it to pull right when you stop. That is of course unless you have a ford racing traction-lok differential and then the tires should be equally worn and that would not be the problem.
