Hello all, recently my old trusty 5.0 has had some odd tire wear on the rear tires. I was told to find out if these cars have 2 or four wheel alignments and I was pretty sure its 2, correct me if Im wrong. Anyways the rear tires keep wearing very fast on the inside. I didn't know which course of action to take whether to replace the rear shocks or rebuild the rear end etc. When the car was on the lift some grease was visible just out of the transfer case on the axle, I wasn't sure if it was related but hopefully someone can fill me in. Thanks.

Thanks man, I think I figured it out though. The shocks on the rear are completely shot. I was under it this morning and I could pull the whole car down with one arm and hear the shocks squeaking. Not only that but also noticed the rubber "cushions" in the adaptors that go in the shock housing are worn so the shock itself is actually loose and only absorbs when a bump is hit hard enough to force it down into the bolt that holds the shock in.

Worn out suspension parts would do it. I was going to say those who need a thrust alignment would have feathering on one side of the tires, and it'd be on the same side of the tires on both sides, not the inside of both tires.
