Dealer Replaced Gas Tank..

Well, This week, I got my gas Tank replaced for the filler problem. Funny thing was I just now got over 4000miles on my GT, and the problem just started. I thought I had got one late enough in the game to not have the problem at first.

I took it in and told them I had the problem, they took the car for an afternoon to check it out. Put 5 miles only on it... and said.. yup it needs replaced.

Scheduled me in, gave me a loaner car day of replacement, and treated me very well about it. Ofcourse I was also very nice to them abotu the issue I was having. I approched them in the manner of, I have an issue, not sure what it is, can you check it out. Rather than damit I bought a new car fix it or I will kick your ass like a lot of folks do.

So, anyways... it only took them a few hours before it was complete, and they even gave me another free tank of gas.

So, my question is. What is different on the gas tanks now?

Was there a redesign?

Oh by the way anyone in East Tennessee that needs service under warranty or other wise. I highly recomend his shop. Its Ray Viles Ford in Clinton, TN. Jerry Lamb is the guy you need to talk to in the service department. Very nice folks:thumbup

Ray Viles Ford...nice people and great service...to bad my company is in litigation with them....but most of the time they are great.
Whos your comapny.. and why?
Can't tell you who my I work for but it is over some service related issues...the billing part, I think? I will find out more...but everyone has said their work was good and they were nice...
It's good to hear good comments about that dealership. That's where I bought my 2005 GT Convertible. I agree with you. Those folks do their best to treat you right. I've never been sorry that I bought from there and highly recommend them to others. :wavey
Since all us East TN'ers are in here...you know any quality shops around where I can get my mustang stripes painted? I have called 5 or 6 places and they all say ~$300 for the stripes and then ~$200-300 for a couple clear coats...that sounds too cheap but maybe it just isnt that expensive around here.
Bradley's Body Shop529 E. Brodway in Maryville. 984-4863. They aren't the cheapest, but the people I have talked to that have had them fix or paint a car for them are very satisfied.

Maybe if all of us Eat tennesseers are in here. Maybe we should set up a get together and bring our Stangs :winks

that would be cool...i will give them a call...thanks

edit: I just called and the guy said he contracts out all of his striping work
Well, did you ask who he uses for the Contracts?

He probably wouldn't tell you, but its worth a shot.

Anyone want to set something up for Sunday afternoon. If so maybe we can put up a post in the regional section.

Any suggestionds on location or what the weather will be that day?
I have mine in for that same thing right now. I didnt get a loner car. They schedule nothing. They are always confused everytime i call or talk to them. Ive taken it in for other TSB issues and its sort of, whatever. And i always have to return it because of damage. Im worried sick. Its day 3.....
I sure wish i had your dealer....
You know, when you get warrranty work done. You can choose what dealership you take it to. If you dont liewk the service department where you bought yours... shop around and talk to some other dealerships in your area. Find you a service department you like, then next time buy from that dealer. For me the price I paid for the car was important, but so was the way I got treated, and how the service department Manager spoke to me. All the Dealerships I went to, I talked to the Sales Manager and Service manager before setting down to deal.

In the end I actually bought from the dealer I though treated me the best, plus they gave me the best price. Beat Ted Russells by $500... which if Ted Russells would have treaded me better, I would have sacraficed the $500 to know I would always be treated with respect for future issues and that the dealership didn't have its head up its ass.
