Dealer screwed up my order, not too happy about it

Got the window sticker for my 2013 gt premium online today, looked and noticed I don't have leather recaros as an option I SPECIFICALLY asked for, just the track pack as my only option. Call the dealer and ask them, and their response "Well ya see, the track pack supersedes leather and automatically comes with cloth recaros, there's no way to get leather with the track pack." No jackass, that's the boss, leather is an option, otherwise it comes with cloth recaros, and I really dont want cloth, so looks like those will be for sale soon. I'm beyond frustrated with dealerships lack of knowledge these days and its annoying as hell as those seats were a BIG reason I ordered from the factory!!!

Did they reimburse you the $ difference?
I'd tell them they have to reorder since they messed up. If they really don't like that, I'd tell them to knock off the retail cost of the leather recaro seats from the price you agreed on since they didn't give you what you ordered.
Well hopefully they will wake up and give you a good deal
Personally, I would get my deposit back (if any) and walk/run away from that dealer then order again from another dealer.
I just went onto Ford's website and Recaro Leathers is all good. I'd demand a buy back ford every penny. Especially since you probably went over the car at the sale. What does your window sticker say?
I have the original "build and price" order form they sent me when the whole deal got started, and it clearly says leather recaros. I'm gonna raise hell about this until they make it right, cuz my window sticker says $37,xxx msrp (I'm paying less on x plan) but I absolutely remember the day I ordered it, msrp was $39,xxx according to them cuz of the extra cost of the recaros. I'm beyond pissed that dealerships are so misinformed these days, and if they won't make the order right, I will try and get my deposit back since that's not the car I laid down $500 for to secure an order. If they won't give me the money I'll just walk and go to another dealer. Not gonna pay $30k+ on a car that isn't exactly what I want.

I wonder if Deysha can get your order fixed?? Have you tried contacting her about it?

I'm not saying it was aliens...bit it was aliens.
I pm'd her earlier and haven't heard back. Worse comes to worse I walk away and wait till next year and order a 14 with a huge down payment. Not happy at all right now.
Yeah, I wouldn't settle for anything less than exactly what you want when you order a car. Unless they negotiate very much in your favor.
...I'm gonna raise hell about this.....
Take my advice and approach the issue calmly. Take the attitude that the dealer wants to make you happy and have you for a customer for many years because the reality is that he does. You'll be surprised how easy it is to get what you paid for by being friendly, professional and patient.

I hope this gets worked out. I know you're frustrated and mad, but don't let it get to you too much. Being level headed and rational will do more than throwing a fit at the dealer. In the end if they can/won't fix it then most definitely walk. If I custom ordered a car it better be what I ordered otherwise there's no point custom ordering. Good luck and keep us posted.

Good Lord, get a grip.

The dealer made a mistake when ordering your car. It's not a big deal. Either accept the car with cloth Recaros, or cancel the order and submit another for the car you really want.

If you don't have a mental breakdown first, maybe you can use the situation to negotiate an even better deal.

I have never understood the "I'M SUPER PISSED" mentality. Let me guess, you're a young guy and grew up in the entitled, spoiled, me-first generation.

refuse delveivery of the car, and order from another dealership :p
Actually 46 tbird, I am a young guy. I've held a job since I was able to work, and now work a schedule at a job that most people couldn't stand to deal with simply because it pays well and it has allowed me to become a home owner and make a good living. I grew up learning hard work ethic and have always busted my ass to get where I'm at. So take your condescending attitude and shove it up your ass. If you came to me and ordered something, and I didn't get it right, you're telling me you wouldn't be upset? Get down off your high horse and stop acting like you'd be calm as can be, if so, maybe you should start workin your way to being the next Dhali Lama oh peaceful one.

Yeah. Ok.

He has every right to be super pissed. He's not acting entitled, or spoiled. He's expecting the people he is paying a lot of money to for a product to do their job and do it correctly. he is also expecting a dealer to know their product.

When you spend tens of thousands of dollars on what is generally a five year committment, not getting what you want because the dealer just pulls an "oops" is unacceptable.

Now, I do agree with you that the best plan is to get it fixed or find another dealer, but that doesn't negate the fact that he has just cause to be displeased with the dealer.

Just because not everyone reacts the same way as you would (get mowed over by people making mistakes with no accountability) does not mean they are wrong. Our differences is what makes the world go 'round.
The best view the OP can get for the source of the problem is to look in the mirror.

The responsibility for special-order verification falls to the customer.

The customer must check / verify the configuration from Ford after the order is entered.

The incorrect-order outcome is expected when the configuration is not confirmed.

My original msrp was $39,xxx at the dealer, the window sticker shows $37,xxx, the difference being the leather seats. We went over this 3-4 times at the dealer and I know for a fact they were included in my initial order. The fault is on them here.
