I just recently purchased FRPP 4:10 gears and took them into a dealership to install. When I got the car back the install was perfect but they meddled with my CPU when I had it tuned by a SF3 tuner by SCT without me asking them to! Now my tuner is locked out, have to send it back to SCT for them to unmarry it in order for it to work again with the car. So what was suppose to be a fantastic/fun/simple improvement turned into nightmare. I have to run my car on a stock tune (shiver runs down my spine) and wait probably 3 weeks until I have the Tuner back in my hands. Until then I will be driving 110km/hr on the highway with the speedo saying 150km/hr :gringreen. The only good things about this is that the dealership promised to cover all expenses due to them messing up my car

A Very good Reason to always remove your Tune before bringing it to get worked on

I could understand them re-flashing your computer to adjust for the gears, but if your speedo is reading wrong, then thats just b.s. that they went near it.

Sorry to hear about your bad luck. I always tell my dealer dont ever mess with the computer and they always snottily tell me "Oh we dont do that". Dealers suck.

That's why it is a good idea to always re-flash before going to a dealership. :bigthumbsup

Yea lesson learned about flashing it back to stock when I take it to the dealer for anything.

Does the CAI NEED to come off? I will only be driving the stang 2 minutes to work and back out of necessity. I'm not driving her on the highway until the tunes back on her

How long does it take you to walk to work?

Would take about 10 minutes to bike to work. It's not the fact that its 10 minutes...its the fact that I leave for work at 2:20am in which I would rather drive than bike

Lol this is true. It wasn't really a nightmare more of a let down/annoyance. Waited awhile to do this mod and for the dealership to so easily mess it up for me over such a small thing...ughh

Had mind done by dealership and had no problems, of course I did go back to stock before leaving it with the dealership. They couldn't even set my speedometer for the 4.10's anyway, told me to go to Stanhi speed shop. Didn't tell them I had a CIA and tuner though. Got back home and put my tune and CIA back and been fine since.
