Does anyone whether or not there is a difference in 86' 5L O2 sensors and latermodels?

I've got a set of 86' sensors stuck in my old H-pipe and I just bought a new-to-me aftermarket H-pipe off a 90's something fox. Both sensors have 2 white wires and 1 black but the pins on the 86' are much larger than the newer version and I want to know if there is a reason for that?

The quick connects are different for different applications, but the sensors for X application are the same. Since my local parts store is so awesome, they didn't have 2 sensors from the same company, so I had to cut off the quick connects and just put male/female connectors on instead.

It there a quick way to tell whether or not my O2 sensors are working correctly without reading codes?

Not a way to single them out, but if you smell fuel out of your exhaust, and the car is running like poop, time to run the codes and check.
I had alot of surging going on when my one sensor's harness got cut while SOMEONE was playing with the downpipes. That guy's an ass.:hihi:
