I heard that the explorer's have a tougher block than the mustangs is this true? I know they probably don't but i was just wondering if maybe this was something I haven't heard in the last 8 years dealing with mustangs...

nope same thing
the explorer motors also have the same hypereutectic pistons like the 1993 stangs came with
the 1992-earlier mustangs had forged pistons

blocks are identical, heads are better they flow more air, upper and lower intakes also flow more air... many mustang 5.0 ppl will replace stock heads and intakes for the gt40s (explorer).
