Hi everyone,

I have noticed that my passenger side headlight on my 2005 V6 is always misted up and the drivers side headlight is fine and never seems to mist up.

I thought that maybe the drivers side stays clear because the intake system is that side and I thought that maybe more air flows around the headlight because of where the intake is positioned.

Does anyone have any advice for the misted up passenger side headlight? I was thinking about somehow making a hole in the headlight unit to allow air to flow through?

It may be doing that because there is a tiny hole or crack somewhere, bad bulb seal or seam in the plastic that is allowing moisture in. Fix that, pull the bulb and dry out the inside with compressed air and the problem should be fixed.

Never seen it myself, but there should already be a breather hole or vent somewhere on the plastic lamp assembly. Do not add another one. You most likely have a bad seal or crack as noted above. You'll probably have to pull the light bucket to find it. If it's not in the clear lens then JB weld or similar two part epoxy can fix a crack. A little dab of clear silicone sealant for the seam around the clear lens part or light socket seal. As far as wiping out the inside, that's a good idea to prevent future water spots. Just make sure the cloth is soft and lint free.
Not knowing where you live, but if the area around the light was packed full of snow, just the normal breathing (lights on / lights off) could have snorted up excess moisture and it hasn't had time to work its self out.

I put aftermarket clear lens turn signals on the front. One was getting a lot of misting. I took it out and tried the sealant around the lens and housing routine. Didn't stop it. I then drilled two small holes up through the bottom of the housing and the moister has never returned. You can't even see the holes and I know where they are.

Thanks for the help guys! I'll have a look at the assembly and see if I can find a crack or bad seal anywhere and seal it up if I do. If that doesn't work I'll have a look at making two holes in the bottom then.
