so i just replaced my spark plugs and put on a new accufab 75mm TB. after i was done everything ran just fine until i washed my car, after that when accelerating the car wouldnt accelerate. its hard to explain but it would be going fine and once i would hit around 2000 rpm something would go wrong and it would feel as if i just took my foot off the gas and when in 1st and 2nd gear on a manual you can imagine if your accelerating and just took your foot off the gas and slammed it back on. thats how it was feeling. also when sitting at idle if i tried to rev the engine just real quick it wouldnt rev right away it took a second and then would almsot die when i took my foot off the gas. i dont know any other way to explain this. i hope someone can help me hear, im lost.

plugges gapped right?

does the TB require a tune?

if so are you tuned for it?

Sounds like you got some water somewhere it doesn't belong in the ignition system. Pull the coils and see if they are wet inside where they should be dry.

is it possible that the engine and pcm have to relearn for the new tb. air/fuel ratios possibly
i second the plugs and the confused computer
so am i getting this right... pull the plugs and check for moister and then what should i do about the confused computer... and thanks for the help
Pull all 8 C.O.P.s, dry them and either vacuum the moisture out or put a paper towel in there to soak up the moisture. Don't put a hose on the engine compartment. :nono: I have done that for the last time.

The computer will relearn parameters, but it will do so faster if you disconnect the battery for about 10 minutes and then reconnect it. It will stall, sputter, etc until all parameters are relearned.

well thanks again for the help, hopefully it works but im sure ill be posting again about it if it doesnt.... oh and how can i prevent this from happening again since it happens even if it rains
so i figured it all out, and the car is running better than ever. took the car out and once i new everything was good i started toying with a firebird. a girl was driving it and i think she just thought i was flirting so i held up the wedding ring and said i wanted to run it. took off at next stop light and smoked her by 4 car lengths. i dont think she new to listen for the whistle.

Was it just moisture on the COPs and plugs?

To prevent it if it happens even when it rains, I would make sure you have the lower splash guard installed, check the air filter location, make sure all tubing in the intake system is sealed, and maybe look for a wire that is hanging low off its hanger. This isn't a common thing, so if its something that comes and goes I would guess its something routed wrong or out of place, usually, but not always, broken things stay broken.
