Happy new year everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now for some advice:
My car was cutting out on the highway. I suspected ignition. I was right!
My distributor holddown bolt was way loose.
Anyone out there, who times by ear - running with your distributor snugged down only enough to allow impromptu timing adjustments(you think you might encounter the enemy on the way home, so you advance it for the trip...) if the bolt backs out much more, it will compromise the ground to the dizzy.
I tightened mine back down, and the cutout is gone. I'd thought the coil wire was arcing. Just happened to notice during a cursory inspection, that the dizzy housing turned too easily...
Anyway, everyone here have an even better 2006, than your 2005!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:drink::drink:

Happy new year. It's awesome when problems are fixed at no cost but it is frustrating that something so small was messing everything up.

I had a Blazer that did the exact same thing, accept it didnt move enough to cut out, it would just ping like a mother, and then run strong, and so on... At least its fixed!
