Don't Order HID's From HIDguy.net

I have no idea if they actually work or not, if they do, awesome. I just received them in the mail now, but I figured id give you all a fair warning before you buy from them. First, the way they came packaged is just horrible and unprofessional IMO. All the wires, ballasts, and bulbs are just thrown in a box and thats it. No foam to hold everything in place, no protective wrapping, nothing. Second, they lie. On the site they say that in the kit you get the following.

(2) Double-Sided Heavy Duty Sticky Mounting Pads and/or Mounting Brackets - NOPE

(1) Pack of 10 Zip-Ties - NOPE

(1) Product and Users Manual - NOPE

Wait...you bought something from a business called HIDguy and expected the experience to be professional?

Sorry your experience was negative, but were you REALLY surprised?

Theyve been around for 5+ years now. Iv know about them for awhile but never ordered so I assumed for a company to be around for that long it must be doing something right. And yes, I was REALLY surprised, just because a name is a bit strange doesnt mean its gonna be a crap company and/or have crapy shipping methods.

Try 1800hid or something to that effect, group buy and your cost is about $30 each at 10 sets or something

I dont think im gonna bother. I mean I have zip ties lieing around the house. And how much is 3m double sided tape, like a couple of bucks? Its just not worth the headache calling and complaining. Now if they dont work I sure will. This was just a heads up to everyone else about them, and to blow off some steam lol.

I've had a similar terrible experience. The harness that was send to me had the hi and low beams reversed. I emailed and called for well over a month and it took him weeks to get back to me. Excuse after excuse "we are really busy" "the weekends are hectic" "sorry for not getting back to you a reletive died". It is sad and pathetic a business like this exists. DO NOT BUT FROM THESE GUYS. I can't even begin to explain my anger with them. BTW, this is months after I have had my transaction with them and I am still upset.

STEER CLEAR.

Ever think I swapped them out for projectors and never updated my picture? I know, this thinking thing.. its crazy right?

To be honest I am not sure. I did not go to their shop direct but ordered over the web. If you ask me it may be that they don't give two shits about out of state purchases but that is no way to treat a customer. The promised replacement part they were going to send has not been shipped and again it has been another month with no response.

Just save yourself the time and stay as far away as possible. There are quite a few other vendors that will give you the support you need.

Trust me I know.. I wouldn't deal with them again.

Man.... why didn't I search for a review before I ordered with these guys

I ordered smoked all red markers lights from these guys about 5 weeks ago. It said they were made to order and would take a few weeks blah blah blah...

No response to multiple emails, and when I tried to call and old woman with a thick accent answered the phone and had no clue what I was I talking about.

Sent them one last email tell them I was going to dispute the charge (which was substantial) if I didn't get a reply.

Does anyone have recommendations for a good company to use for lighting mods? I liked some I saw from AAC, but after talking with the owner who was going to custom make some markers for me (I liked the ones they did for a buddy's camaro, but they didn't do mustang at the time) and he blew me off... of course they offer them now, but I feel a little burned.

So HIDGUY.NET changed to HIDGuy Mod-Shop - Custom Projector Retro-Fits, HID Kits and LED Bulbs from HMS Don’t buy from these thieves. It's interesting to look over the history of complaints on HIDGUY with Oscar and Dante. It seems at one point they may have been reputable but over the last few years not so much. It’s interesting to see Dante identify that they would not stay in business if there were a bunch of complaints on the forums about them and it appears he is right. HIDGUY.net is no more. I guess they figure we’re are all simpletons and will never realize that Oscar and Dante are changing the company name if too many people complain about how poorly they take care of customers.
Myself, I can honestly say these folks are thieves and liars. I ordered a set of custom headlights for $625 over a year ago and was told many many times from the original order they would be ready in two more weeks. They took my money the day I ordered them. They certainly have that end of the business figured out. I was told two weeks at least 30 different times. For over a year, they have provided a lot of reasonable excuses and I have been extremely patient.

For my willingness to work with them and be patient, now they have stopped responding to any of my inquiries even though I remain polite. I have not had a response since the end of January 2015, even though I continually try to get a hold of Dante or Oscar to see where we stand. Supposedly the last action they took on my account was to show them as shipped but when I advised I have not seen anything on this, Dante told me there was a mix up and they shipped my order to a different customer. Then he promised me again another two weeks and they would either get them back or build me a new set. That was the last time I was able to get a hold of them by phone. I've asked for a refund as well as it seems clear to me that they do not intend to build my lights. Now their phone number tells you to use their web site exclusively to contact them, which I have done 15 times on the web site, but continue to get no response. Someone is reading my inquiries though as some of my inquiries were deleted. I have also tried their emails, but they get bounced back. Don't get taken by these guys as they will steal from you and they will like to you about providing you the product you pay for.
