Hey guys! We were getting ready to start dropping the engine in and were looking at all the related parts when we noticed our drive shaft had a bend in it. So we looked around and found a '68 drive shaft which we were told could be interchangeable. However, the base of the shaft is different, and the diameter in general is larger than the 65. It is the same length though. So I guess the basic question is, can I replace the '65 drive shaft with the '68? Thanks!

This just came up with my brother and I. Provided the u-joint specs are the same we said "yes". I was looking at options on my 65. Hope this helps.

So long as the front u-joint matches up to the yoke going into the trans and the rear u-joint matches up to the pumpkin connection then there's no reason why you cant use it. Generally, its only a bad thing if the driveshaft your putting in is smaller in diameter than the original. A thicker driveshaft should (in theory) be stronger.
