Dual Exhaust Conversion!

I'm sure this has been asked a million times, I'm gonna ask anyway.

Currently, I have a single Pype Bomb (won the set from AM) installed on my V6 and it sounds great (better than some V8's)...but it would sound a lot better with dual exhasut.

If they make a "custom" h-pipe at a shop, will it actually be an h-pipe? Or will it just be a second pipe cut/spliced into the Y?

Just curious as to what kind of sound difference I'm looking at.
My local shop said they could do it for $100-$150, but I didn't ask too many details.

I would still need to get the bumper cut out, so any thoughts on the cost here also?

I read that huge thread on V6 Exhasut...sooo nevermind.
just do true duals. I did that. I reached my goal of having too loud of exhaust. but it sounds amazing with a set of shorty headers (cant do long tubes with no mid pipe). Im working on cams next!

Are the pipes the same size on both the GT and V6 (2.5 inches)? I was thinking of replacing all the pipes with the pypes midpipes (Pypes TFM62 Pypes Mustang Mid-pipe for 2005-2010 (409 Stainless Steel) V8 - TFM62, Pypes Miscellaneou), and I'd prefer an h-pipe but I'll settle for the pypes x-pipe (Pypes Cut & Clamp X-Pipe (05-10 V6 Mustang) XFM44 - Free Shipping!) if i have to.

Does anyone think it's worth changing the midpipes, or should I not replace the existing one and simply add another?

yes the pipes are the same size as the GT when i converted i only had to buy the left mid pipe from a Gt the mufflers and exhaust hangers for the left side then i took it to the shop and he custom made an H-pipe no problem. I had also pre-cut the bumper with the template i posted earlier i made mine used it then reproduced it on Auto-CAD for others future use. if you want pics let me know. And its definitely not worth replacing the perfectly good right mid pipe

That's what I'll do then. If you could post some pictures under your car and a rear shot that would be great! :bounce2:

Hope these help you i don't think many people realize i did this and still continue to use the pypes one which is no offense to pypes but absolutely terrible Im so glad i didn't cut my car with that template. I also used a small dremel to start the cut and i finished cleaning it up with a razor knife.

Thanks, that helps a bunch. :bigthumbsup I have a $400 dent in my hood from a truck hitch, so once I get the cash this is on the to do list. I'll try posting pictures of the final product when it comes around.
