Is there any exhaust setup that on average gives you more power than another?

no not necessarily.. and on another note, exaust is more for sound, not for power... but thats not the point. if youre looking for exausts and arent sure whaere to start, may i suggest SLP loudmouths, flowmasters, magnaflows, and JBA. there are several more our there but this will get you started... hope this helps!

a good exhaust can increase power....a x makes a little more power than an h....check out some of the sound clips here and look at the hp the have....

and an x is more raspy than an h

but daul exhausts are usually for looks, sound, and add a tad of power to, but its just one of those building blocks, for down the road, if u s/c you'll need the free flowing exhuast

Depends on your application. All motor, boosted, N20, etc.
What mods you plan on doing will determine what exhaust will work best.
