Dumb luck. bad luck, no luck at all

While enjoying a beautiful day out in my Mustang, I got in a little traffic, and after a little stop and go, ran directy into a car in front of me after he had to stop short, and I had just given my car a little gas. $5000 dollars of damage and at least two weeks without my car. I have a linclon mKz as a rental and to my suprise it is a piece of crap. My wife who truly dislikes my mustang actually said my car is far better than the linclon. Two weeks without my car just seems too long.

When I was rear ended at a red light. I was in my 08 Mustang GT and I was hit by a Mazda 3. 1200 in damage and 9 days without my car. My rental was a volvo s60 Turbo it was actually a nifty car. The lucky thing in the outcome was they ordered a GT/CS bumper instead of a standard GT so I got a nice little upgrade. Miss that Mustang. Sorry about your bad luck.

My sympathies. I did the same thing in my Mach 1. You just have to seethe now & then while it's getting fixed, then pick up where you left off when you get it back.

Modern clearcoat stuff blends in very well. It'll likely look like new!
NOOOOOOO, where did this happen!? And I know exactly what you mean. I am always having close calls in BR traffic like this. Sometimes I feel mustang accidents are sadder than funerals :/

Hope you get fixed up ASAP!

It happended exiting I10 to essen lane, there were three other accidents in the same area that day at that time, traffic was horrible. The guy in front of me was a great guy though, no fussing, no attitude even though he was warranted. Car will be be kept for about 10 days
Ah sorry to hear that. I hear traffic horror stories in that area all the time. Luckily I only take the interstate back from LSU and get off on highland in the mornings. The $5000 was for the both of you? Can't imagine what kind of vehicle you must have hit to cause $5000 worth of damage...
no the 5000$ was just my car. basically replacing all the front end body panels plus the radiator. It does not look nearly as bad as they seen to have made it. I believe there is some shop padding going on. The adjuster and the body shop work together in the same building.
I'm surprised you don't like the MKZ. Granted it isn't a sports car like the Mustang, but my wife's MKZ has surprisingly good acceleration and a great ride.

Sucks to do that kind of damage to your car.

I have found that the ride of the MKZ does seem to shine on the HWY once I put it on the interstate. But really it is the overall quality of the MKZ. It has all the bells and whistles that you expect in a high end compact, small vehicle, however it is classified, but I still feel like im in a dressed up Fusion. There are many flimsy aspects to the car that I dont even have in my mustang. What I do like is the seats though. While most people who drive a mustang like the hugging feel of the bucket seats, I am 6'0 280 and the flatter seats in the MKZ are very nice for my larger frame. The MKZ is a nice car, just dont know if I would spend the 40 grand to own it. Just my opinion.

I just pulled into Lafayette, and glad I didn't get my Mustang Friday. The 600 mile haul to here would have been worse worrying about a new car in some of the areas. As is, after 80,000 miles with no windshield chips, I got several on my Taurus going through Texas between Paris and Marshall. And my front end is covered with bugs. Never seen bugs this bad during the daylight hours.
I had to drive a Fusion while my Mustang was in the shop to check a few things (dealer gave me a loaner, I'm sure buying the MKZ and then the Mustang helped him feel generous on that part!).

I have to say, if you drive the MKZ and then the Fusion you will see a big difference in the cars. The MKZ has a much more solid feel to it, the interior is definitely upgraded, and the performance is a lot better in the MKZ. The Fusion did get great MPG though.
