I am going to be driving back and forth from college soon and because of my 3.73 gears and muffler my car is too loud past 75 mph so i bought dynamat, i was wondering if i should do the trunk or the floor or what areas would be best to do. i have 36 square feet. What places should i dynamat first? And would just dynamat be good enough?

Dynamat V6

I did this with my '06 pony coupe for the same reason.
I removed the interior trim and spare tire from the trunk and did the spare tire well, trunk floor and fenders. As I had 50 sq ft I then removed the backseat and covered the floor under the seat.
Wear old clothes, after you roll the dynamat down there will be some of the asphalt sealant squeeze out at each seam, which will get all over your back as you roll around in the trunk. Had my wife cut the pieces to size and hand them to me. Also gloves to prevent cutting your hands, the edges are really sharp.

Good luck

tulsa oklahoma, and highways are usually 60 in town, once you get out of town a ways they are 75, but you can go 80 easy with no trouble

Odd that you posted about the drone. It drove me nuts so I finally yanked the take-off and re-installed the stock muffler this past weekend. Car is a lot quieter and I can carry on a normal conversation and don't have to crank up the volume to hear the radio.

I briefly looked into dynamat but the cost was more than I wanted to pay; not to mention the mess and smell.

I kept the CAI combo and don't see a difference in the cars performance with the stock muffler. Of course whatever coolness factor there was with a single GT Take-off muffler is gone, but WTH.

There was an artilcle on some website that the guy was doing the Dynamat thing for exhaust noise. (I don't recall what site though)

He did a similar job like Mcstang1. The whole trunk floor, trunk sides, under the back seat & he made something by cardboard or paneling to hold Dynamat against his rear seat backs. He claimed it helped a little, but it didn't remove it. He said the cost vs benefit wasn't there.

Quite possibly you have different exhaust and hopefully you'll have different results
