Edelbrock Carb Problems

557 Views 2 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  25thfox
I'm wondering if anyone has a pic of a manual choke carb. The secondary butterflys on mine are open about a 1/4" all the time wondering if that is normal. When i drive it , the 4 barrels dont open. The idle is around 1500 rpm. The idle screw is out all the way & the only way I can get the rpm's down is to dump in more fuel. The secondary butterfley wont shut even if I force them down. anyone know if the secondary butterfleys should shut & my choke is always open. Can anyone help cause I just bought the car & would love to see it work the way it should. The carb I have is a 600 cfm Eldlebrock 1405 (manual choke)

get that carb rebuilt or buy a new one thats the only way to make everything right
How is the linkages for the secondarys are they binding up somewhere? I would just spend the couple of bucks to rebuild it.
