Newbie on these forums for posting but have gained a ton of info reading up on many topics. I now have a question on the EGR solenoid. I have removed the EGR and capped off, installed the simulator in place of the sensor and want to remove the EGR solenoid. How do I go about this to keep from setting codes as when I unplug it now it sets code 34. Any help would be appreciated.

You shouldnt get code 34 from messing with the EVR solenoid. Unplugging that should set codes 83-84. Code 34 is EGR voltage to high. Which contradicts what unplugging the EVR solenoid would do.

To me it looks like the EGR simulator is not setup right. With the EGR sim, you should only get code 33.

After putting everything back together and digging a little deeper the only code I am getting is code 84 with the EGR solenoid unplugged. How could i keep this code from popping up? When I plug it back in all is good. Thanks.

Get a 75ohm 3 watt resistor. Then stick it in the connector. Should clear that code.
