Electrical Problem?

I'm new to these forums, I had found them while searching for a fix to a problem.

I have just recently encountered this problem. I have an 05 v6, and I've had it since June and this problem didn't occur until we've had cold weather (here in Michigan).

I started my car in the morning to go to work, and all the interior lights (i.e. door locks, windows, TC, hazard, Heating/Cooling knobs, cruise control) decided to switch off. When they came back on, my message center said CHECK TRAC CONTROL. Also, my headlights slightly dimmed. It happened multiple times, then it stopped and the rest of my drive was fine.

It happened again recently, but this time it beeped multiple times reading CHECK TRAC CONTROL, and also CHECK CHARGING SYSTEM. I noticed this time that the battery gauge was also moving up towards H. Even the ABS light came on. My headlights dimmed slightly again. After a few times, it stopped for the remainder of the ride.

I took it in to the dealer, and they said there was nothing they could do because it didn't act up. Does anyone here have any ideas? Or has anyone seen this? Or is it possibly just some sort of wiring problem? Any help would be great.

Did it start ok? Battery connections tight? it does sound like the charging system is croaking.
It starts up alright, in the cold it sounds like it's straining a tad, but nothing I should be concerned about. I'll have to check the connections on the battery.

Do you think this has something to do with that one battery issue? I've read about some people having trouble with their battery draining.

edit: Oh, and I forgot, after I drive a little bit and it stops acting up, I used the Message Center System Check, and it says that both the Charging System and Traction Control are OK. Weird.
Sounds like moisture may be getting into a connector somewhere. Check the harnesses for proper seating especially the computer connections.

The battery drain issue would cause your battery to be dead, this is something different, you might have to leave it at the dealer for a day or two, I have had to do that before. Especially since it is intermittant.
Like 2horseowner said, sounds like a lousy connection somewhere.
I just experienced an electrical problem with mine the other night. I was using my high beams and had switched from high to low beams several times in a period of 5 minutes. I had my fog lights on and I was checking to see the difference being low beams with fog and the high beams. Well, when I switched to high, the high beams came on for a second then dimmed down to nothing and I was hearing a beep but I did not see any warning indicators on. I switched to low then back to high and the same thing happened. On the third attempt the high beams didn't come and I could hear a beeping sound but no warning indicator was on. When I got home I checked the high beam fuse and it was blown. Replaced and tested multiple times and everything worked fine. Has me puzzled but now I am carrying extra fuses in my glove box. Have a 2005 GT built in February.

Thanks for the help guys. I am taking it to the dealership tonight, I might have to leave it for a bit, and have them check it in the morning like I do.

I'll keep you posted.
