Before I posted this, I did a search but it was from a long time ago, and it only had one responce.
What I found was that Ford has not stamped the VIN number on the engine since the 60's? Is this true? I need to find my engine number location. If anyone knows...that would be great! I have a 2001 V6.
It may be a chip instead of a stamping.

I know you have to reprogram the computer to do an engine swap.

Forgot about miracerros.

The engine number (the last eight numbers of the vehicle identification number) is stamped on machined pads on the engine block, transmission, frame and transfer case (if equipped).
