So I got my 67 and the car starts right up...problem is the minute I let off the gas it dies. Anybody ran into this? Just focusing on other parts of the car so don't have time to troubleshoot the engine right now.
Sounds like it needs a good tune up. Plugs, gapped at .032 -.034; points gapped at .018"; new wires; new cap and rotor. Carb adjustment including choke and idle speed and mixture and set the timing. New air and fuel filters; new PCV valve and check the hose to make sure it isn't clogged with oil gunk.
Might as well change the oil and filter - it isn't part of the tune up but unless you know when it was last changed it is a good idea.
