My V6 recently became hard to start. It has to crank 5 to 12 seconds every time before it starts. It will start and run fine. It was suggested that I just turn the key and give the fuel pump time to pump gas to the engine, this does not help. It use to fire right up, there is no check engine light, any suggestions?
Thanks,
Charlie

Check the battery cables. Are they clean, tight, and corrosion free?

+1 on above. Change the fuel filter and clean the MAF.

Check for vacuum leaks. Even a tiny leak will cause issues so don't cut corners here.

Try cycling the key on/pause/off several times. Listen for the fuel pump to run each time the key is cycled. After several key cycles, crank the motor. Does this improve starting? If so, suspect fuel pressure leak down.

Hold the throttle half way open. Does this improve starting? If so, suspect a bad IAC.

Disconnect the MAF electrical connector. Does this improve starting?
