i see alot of people talking about the clutch fans is there a particular electric fan kit that has been a good swap in through experience or is everyone trying whatever they find, im just curious if there is one that is best suited for fox body or is it just what you find

fan replacement is key. the stock fan and clutch combo is super heavy. buy electric OR if your on a budget get a flex-a-lite plastic fan and aluminum spacer. this mod won't technically gain you horsepower but it will help your engine to use the power it has more efficiently with the reduction of rotating mass :yup:

Rear disc swap continued......

Hi! I have a '96 disc 8.8 that I do wanna put under my '86 notch. Yes, it was a 2.3 notch or it would already have an 8.8 rear. Is this the same kind of swap as that last post? '93 cobra e-brake cables and master cylinder and such? I have read that you need an SN-95 offset wheel to keep it under the fenders or would you suggest the '05up offset? Started with the rear, then those tiny front rotors are next............thanks.

I can't stand my drums breaks. I'm looking at the 10th anniversary cobra rims which I can get 4 or 5 lug. I would rather get the 5 lug but money is tight unless there is a cheaper for the conversion what is the easiest way to convert that dumb drum into a disk? I'm not looking for anything crazy just a little bit better than I have now?

Or do I still the SN95 for those also?

I have been researching how to use the disc brake hardware off of a SN95.
Here's a pretty good guide I have found: SN-95 Brake Conversion
In the future I hope to do this. I plan on getting all the hardware from a 96-98 at the salvage yard (there's a few out there), then buying new pads for the set up and hard lines. It should be cheap to do it this way...

Personally, I've never gone wrong working for lower operating temps and weight. Both reduce wear/tear on your engine/drivetrain (respectively). All your driveline components will last longer, accelerate faster, better gas mileage (some here probably care) and cornering.

It's hard to spend too much on cooling. 2/3-core aluminum radiator (Be Cool) + electric (Black Magic) fan works wonders for both cooling and weight reduction.

So this sunday i'm going and buying my first mustang. its a 1984 gt 350 with t tops. from what i understand its pretty rare... I'm pretty clueless about mustangs and fords all together but they are only asking $700 for it. the Downside of this mustang. someone stole the t tops. Upside is its only $700 runs/drives and has been garage parked. I figured it would be a great first "project car" what are your opinions on it?

If anyone still cares to know: converting the rear end to disc is quite easy. An 87 superbird is a great conversion kit and everything you need is there basically. That's how I have mine done and it's working great!

I didn't see this one... High flow, high performance radiator. I'm putting one in out of pure necessity, my stock one crapped out. Damn plastic s*&t split out away from the radiator section. Whoever thought of plastic aluminum radiators needs to be beaten senseless... I just bought a Mishimoto all aluminum radiator for $215. A OEM one is about $160. I'm guessing it's worth the difference. :bigthumbsup
