one word to fix that drone (or eliminate most of it) - dynamat!!

The stuff is awesome - it is a sound insulating material that you stick all over the interior metal of your car - I lined my trunk and especially the metal under the back seat (that is where the bulk of the noise seeps in) - made a HUGE difference. The drone is still there now and then, but not nearly as head splitting, and over all it is a big improvement.

The stuff ain't cheap though - about $250 to line the trunk and under the back seat, but well worth it in my opinion. You can find the stuff at Best Buy and most good audio shops - just wear gloves when you work with it as it has a thin metal backing and will slice you up something nice.

Hope it helps.
Hey H,
Is that stuff peel and stick? Can it be cut w/ a utility knife? I remember seeing a poster for that material when I had my sirius unit put in at a radio shop. I would do the bottom of the back seats for sure. I have the Steeda axle backs. These were out before the Borla and Ford models and they look exactly the same, except the name stamped on the can. They all look good though, but some drone at times.

yep - it's peel and stick and I used my util knife and a pair of heavy shop scissors for more intricate shapping. Be sure to stick it to the metal and not the seats themselves. I did not calculate how much I would need to start so I ended up making two more trips to the store.

their web is: www.dynamat.com

oh!! and they have 2 kinds - be sure to get the "extreme" version.

It all depends on what kind of sound you want. I ended up going with the Magnaflow Magnapacks...smooth, deep, quality sound. The only other exhaust that I also really liked were the Borlas and the Bassanis.

I just put a pair of the Ford Racing M-5230-GTA on my 06 GT. I understand that they are made by Borla (part #11752). They are slightly louder than the stock mufflers, which is what I wanted as I did not want to draw attention to myself. They were quite easy to install, and the 4" tips look great (fill out the body relief). The fix/allignment is excellent which is important since the muffler holds the exhaust pipes in place.
