Exhaust Rattle Issue solved

I think I may have found one solution to the exhaust rattling issue that many of you may be having with dual exhaust -
My exhaust would rattle at idle only if the air conditioning was on. And he drone up around 2000rpm highway cruizing would vibrate quite loud.
So here is the simple thing to check:
Make sure your muffler hanger is not touching your rear bumper. (The bent tubing thing that goes through the hanger) It took me forever to figure out why my exhaust kept rattling after ford re-installed it after tranny failure and its just that the muffler is too close to the metal part of the inside of the bumper

Glad to hear you resolved your issue, sounds like it was an easy fix. I`m still working on mine. I`ve made some progress by taking up some slack within the tranny cross member isolator.
There are a couple of TSB`s on that very subject, one suggests a hose clamp around the isolator and the other is to do away with the isolator altogether.
I`ve tried the clamp fix unsuccesfully. Others have had good results in removing the isolators as per the TSB.
I`m a little apprehensive in going that route as it would seem the entire exhaust system would only be supported by the cats and mufflers with nothing in between:confused:, I could be wrong, anyone care to comment?
