So hi everyone i got a question i recently change all the exhaust system on my 2011 v6 mustang i put bbk long tube headers, catted x-pipe and roush axle back. I got pulled over by the cop today because it was too loud. My question is: Is there a way to keep my roush axle-back by adding something inside the muffler so the cop cant put a rod in it and say its not legal because he can go through it.

Thank you,

I have no idea about the laws in Quebec. What I would suggest is putting resonated tips on the end to quiet it down a bit.

You don't need to test Roush Axleback + Headers... It's seriously, obnoxiously loud. Retard loud; not to be mistaken with retardedly fun loud.

OP, you could try resonators on the pipes along the way, I'd look into getting a different axlebacks, or just settle for putting the stockers back on and sell the axlebacks.

In Quebec your exhaust system can't be change to do more noise than stock setup. Even if you put something inside the muffler, it not more legal.

is with a flash light

What in God's name can they do with a flashlight? Hold it against the exhaust and see if the vibration breaks the bulb filament????????????

I think they check to see if the muffler is straight through. That would lead to the loudest exhaust. A chambered muffler will never be as loud as a straight through muffler so they are checking to see if the muffler is chambered or straight through and therefore to loud

I already think just the Roush axleback is way too loud, can't imagine it with headers and x pipe... anyways back on topic:

According to Tuning – modified vehicles, modifying the exhaust in any way is illegal in Quebec, so the cop probably just looked for anything that wasn't Ford branded with his flashlight.

My suggestion is to just put the stock mufflers back on.

EDIT: woops, it's illegal to modify exhaust to make it louder than stock. Still, the cop was probably looking for anything not Ford branded.

Get rid of both of the bolded items.

A roush without headers is really loud.

Headers with stock exhaust might work better.

I can't imagine driving around with a Roush exhaust and headers. Yuck

if you have a muffler shop that works with stainless steel pipe have them install a set of turbo mufflers. unlike the roush turbo mufflers have a baffling system and will keep it quieter but still allow good flow for power.
