i heard from some one awhile ago that a explorer 5.0 had more stroke less bore then a mustang 5.0 and was told u could take the explorer block crank and rods get mustang 302 pistons and bore the block bigger and u will have a stroker i been searching and havent found anything some one let me know the truth thanks!!!

Yep, 96-01 Explorer engines are hydraulic roller 5.0 HOs too. Of course they have the GT40 intake, two different versions of GT40 heads (different years), and they are controlled by EEC-V computers and use a camshaft position sensor and coil packs instead of a distributor... But mechanically they are the same.

Oh, the piston design is slightly different too...
