over the weekend i put my explorer tb on my mustang. i noticed after mounting everything that the car ran like crap(lots of pinging under acceleration) i found that the tps wasn't getting any voltage so i checked and my connection from the tps harness to the main wiring harness wasn't good.after re-connection we set the voltage and everything was good.drove it to work and the same thing happened again-started pinging, check engine lite came on. i pulled over and pushed on the connectors and it was ok again.i guess i am going to have to get new connectors - or could it be something else??? thanks -slo

It does sound like a bad connection,i allways use some di-electric grease on elec. connections.

Try the die electric grease and see if it helps.

i put greese on the probes in the connector but i'm noticing the the tps is very sensitive to vibration. what i mean is when the car is running and i tap the tps wires it affects the voltage. when we spliced the wires we soldered them and wraped each one then put a harp plastic cover over them to protect them from heat. i'm wondering if the hard plastic is squeezing them to much????--- any thoughts?
