Fat Tires ....help..

2314 Views 7 Replies 6 Participants Last post by  jacknh
So I am looking to finally change my rear wheels. I have stock GT bullit rims right now...I want to get either 17x10s or 18x10s with a tall and wide tire. I do not want 45s...I was thinking either 260/55s or 255/60s sort of the look of my 1969. Anyone have their car with fat n wide tires in the rear I would really like to see what it looks like before I buy them!! OPINIONS??

First of all, welcome to AFM. As far as a TALL tire, you may want to stay with a 17 inch wheel. 18's will give you limited room for change. Go with a 17x10 rear and 17x9 front. Just don't plan on the car handling as well in the turns, it will be mostly a straight line car. Good luck.
Porsche and vettes stagger their wheels, right? They handle awesome in the corners. How come a mustang can't? I would think it has more to do with the suspension than staggered tires.

Then again, I've never driven a stang with a staggered setup, do I dunno.
